Transition of a family firm to the next generation is fraught with challenges. Research an example of a successful family business with multiple generations of ownership and/or management. Why has this business succeeded for multiple generations? What procedures did they take to ensure a successful transition? In your initial post, share the name of the business, a link to their website, and identify a minimum of three keys to success for this business.
Research and Reflect
Choose one of the discussion prompts below to research and write about. Please make sure you copy the topic as a title at the top of your post so we know what you are writing about.
· Find an advertisement that you feel communicates a strong brand personality. Describe that personality in terms of the dimensions of personality (sincerity, excitement, competence, sophistication, ruggedness). Then, describe the various techniques used in the ad (E.g. celebrity endorser, user imagery, and executional factors) and how that links to the personality they are communicating.
· Find at least 2 advertisements that appeal to levels in Maslow’s hierarchy of your choice. Explain why the ads appeal to the particular levels, and speculate on why the firm decided to appeal to these levels.
· Find at least 2 advertisements that appeal to McGuire’s Psychological Motives of your choice. Explain why the ads appeal to the particular motives, and speculate on why the firm decided to appeal to these motives.
· Describe your personality using the “five-factor model” and discuss how you think your personality affects your consumption behavior in different scenarios – E.g. bargaining, shopping, complaining, etc.

Rewriting and revisions to be made (per request of professor):
1.) Evaluation: Describe your pre-post design. Describe how this is an educational intervention and how it is outcome evaluation.
2.) SMART: Objective were not considered to be SMART. Example: by a particular date 25% of participants will show an increase in
knowledge, material development, collecting data, intervention (actually what
you plan to do)
3.) Revise/rewrite introduction for proposal

Prior to beginning work on this discussion, review section 9 of the APA https://www.apa.org/ethics/code/index?item=12 in the APA’s Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct and DSM-5.
It is recommended that you read Chapters 1 and 2 The assessment process (Links to an external site.) in the APA handbook of testing and assessment in psychology, Vol. 2: Testing and assessment in clinical and counseling psychology (Links to an external site.) (2013) e-book, as well as the Kielbasa, Pomerantz, Krohn, and Sullivan (2004) “How Does Clients’ Method of Payment Influence Psychologists’ Diagnostic Decisions?” and the Pomerantz and Segrist (2006) “The Influence of Payment Method on Psychologists’ Diagnostic Decisions Regarding Minimally Impaired Clients” articles for further information about how payment method influences the assessment and diagnosis process.
For this discussion, you will assume the role of a clinical or counseling psychologist and diagnose a hypothetical client. Begin by reviewing the PSY650 Week Two Case Studies document and select one of the clients to diagnose. I chose Amanda’s case.
In your initial post, compare the assessments typically used by clinical and counseling psychologists, and explain which assessment techniques (e.g., tests, surveys, interviews, client records, observational data) you might use to aid in your diagnosis of your selected client. Describe any additional information you would need to help formulate your diagnosis, and propose specific questions you might ask the client in order to obtain this information from him or her. Identify which theoretical orientation you would use with this (cognitive behavioral) client and explain how this orientation might influence the assessment and/or diagnostic process. Using the DSM-5 manual, propose a diagnosis for the client in the chosen case study.
Analyze the case and your agency’s required timeline for diagnosing from an ethical perspective. Considering the amount of information you currently have for your client, explain whether or not it is ethical to render a diagnosis within the required timeframe. Evaluate the case and describe whether or not it is justifiable in this situation to render a diagnosis in order to obtain a third party payment.

This case study was adapted from the CDC Epidemiology Program Office, Case Studies in Applied Epidemiology, No. 891-903.
It is the early 1990s. The World Health Organization (WHO) is planning a program for the global eradication of polio by the year 2000. Likura is a ficticious country that may become one of the countries selected to test the effectiveness of WHOs polio eradication strategies. Unfortunately, little is known about polio in Likura. The Minister of Health therefore assigned the task of assessing the polio situation to a Ministry worker who has recently returned from an epidemiology course in Atlanta, and who is about to become the District Health Officer in the Ababo District. The Ababo District is a relatively poor rural district with a single hospital and several health centers.
The Ababo District has attempted to conduct surveillance on polio cases and deaths over the past five years. The hospital, health centers, and all health workers are required to report such cases to the District Health Officer.
Another way to measure the impact of polio in a community is the prevalence of severe leg muscle weakness or paralysis in children, since children affected by polio may develop this condition (lameness) as a consequence of infection.
