In this course you are learning about the Triple Bottom Line or the 3Ps (or EES)

In this course you are learning about the Triple Bottom Line or the 3Ps (or EES) way of considering Sustainability. You are learning about Facility Management through understanding Housekeeping and Engineering operations in hotels. For this project, I want you to combine all three aspects of our course and look to the future.
Pick a focus area and write how this area could be beneficial to your hotel/hotel company.
Include as best as possible how you hotel/hotel company could benefit from implementing this area of innovative. You need to do the research that will help to demonstrate the benefits, even if it’s not possible to specifically quantify what it might mean for your specific hotel/hotel company. Have you developed new ideas for innovation?

REVIEW- https://content.bellevue.edu/cob/hmgt/450/hmgt-program-a-look-back.pdf
The concept of First Principles.
You were introduced to the concept of First Principles during your work in HMGT330 Creativity and Innovation in Hospitality Management. You completed an exercise in which you broke down an everyday task into the most basic and essential components, and then examined those components to determine its need and its contribution to the task. You then proposed a new way of completing that task using your new information about how it has been performed.
You will also find material about First-Principles related to Elon Musk and even Aristotle. Here are some sites:
Elon Musks’ “3-Step” First Principles Thinking: How to Think and Solve Difficult Problems Like a Genius, Oshin, M., www.medium.com, 2017
How to Think From First Principles, CreativeHuddle, www.creativehuddle.co.uk, 2015
Read the following article and review the Smarter Hotels & Restaurant site to spark creative ideas for new products, services, or system innovations or improvements:
2017 Innovation Report, Escobar, M. C., Hospitality Technology Magazine, www.hospitalitytech.com, 2017
Hospitality Technology Smarter Hotels & Restaurants, www.hospitalitytech.com
Prepare a discussion that shares your thoughts about your review of the program’s courses and your ideas from previous courses about new products, services, or system innovations or improvements. You will address the following questions:
What initial ideas still hold your interest?
Have you developed new ideas for innovation?
Are you already settling on an idea, or do you need more time?
Why do you think your idea has merit?
What questions do you have for your peers about your ideas?

Then, provide your thoughts on how a hospitality, travel or tourism business should embrace or capitalize on these trends in their marketing approach.

Undertake some research (through the library or other citable resources besides your textbook) to identify and share two examples of trends in advertising, public relations, publicity and sales promotion that are impacting global hospitality, travel or tourism business – not just those in the United States. Choose from one of the following 9 visuals, and analyze the argument based on the visual rhetorical strategies, such as focal point, foreground, background, symbolism (traditional and original), irony, allusion (if present), text, placement of objects, juxtaposition, and people and facial expressions)

Length – 3-4 pages long, plus a works cited (the works cited will be the 4th or 5th page, and will mirror the Works Cited on p. 350 of the textbook), with 1″ margins all around.
POV – 3rd person
SOURCES – 3 sources, plus the visual (this means that you will have 4 sources listed on your works cited page. Also, cite the visual as a work in an anthology (see p. 337, the 4th example down). Your textbook is the anthology. You’ll have to a little research to get the author of the visual and the title of the visual. Remember that you must enclose the title in quotation marks.
MLA Format – See Chapter 10 pp. 329-351 (which means double spacing, a page header with your last name and the page #, and a proper MLA heading, which mirrors the heading on the sample paper on p. 345)
**See the MLA Paper Guidelines on p. 344 (study page 344 carefully so that you understand the requirements for MLA).
Choose from one of the following 9 visuals, and analyze the argument based on the visual rhetorical strategies, such as focal point, foreground, background, symbolism (traditional and original), irony, allusion (if present), text, placement of objects, juxtaposition, and people and facial expressions)
Each of the visuals deals with a pressing social issue:
(a) Identify the exigence and construct hook introduction that ends with a thesis on the issue. The introduction should be 5-7 sentences long.
(b) The Body: Write a well organized cause and effect essay that analyzes how the visual brings out the argument (the exigence). Toward the end of your essay, analyze whether the visual is effective in presenting its thesis. Body should consist of 4-5 paragraphs (with the introduction and conclusion, this means you will write a 6-7 paragraph essay–or more, but not less).
(c) The conclusion should be no more than 4 sentences; the goal is to sum up what you said in the essay and restate your thesis in slightly different wording/phrasing.
Visual Choices: (1) p. 392 & 408 (fake news), readings are listed under the sources;
(2) p. 433 (CNN one way)
(3) p. 441 (Vote)
(4) p. 515 & 532 (Keeping Students Safe)
(5) p. 558 (Virginia Tech –School Shootings)
(6) p. 562, 578, & 593 (Student Debt)
(7) p. 678 (Fentanyl)
(8) p. 680 (Immigrants) **The issue, however, is “illegal immigration” which is a little different from immigration, so don’t be duped with the play on words.
(9) p. 694 & 714 (Importance of the humanities)
**These visuals should give you an idea of research paper topics.
**Please do not forget that you are analyzing a visual.
**Please do not forget what you learned about the four pillars of argument, induction, education, and logical fallacies. This means that if you see a fallacy in your chosen visual, you should dedicate a paragraph to analyzing how the fallacy works to mislead the audience, which would destroy ethos of the organization or author.

Summarize the topic of cybercrime and cyber warfare and answer the questions: where does it all end?

12-point font, Times New Roman, standard margins, and a separate Reference Page, must be in essay format (Introduction paragraph with thesis statement, main paragraphs, conclusion paragraph – do not turn in a numbered list)must cite from Dark Territory – The Secret History of Cyber Warfare by Fred Kaplan, The movie Sneaker (netflix), and Citizen Four (Youtube), and Citations and referencing must be APA 7th ed.
A little summary: The Internet started out as a military research project whose main goal was the easy transfer and sharing of classified information between private and public domains. Over the course of the past fifty years or so, it has turned into the monstrosity that we have today: a global Pandora’s Box of both extraordinary beauty and inescapable darkness. We cannot do anything anymore without being “linked in” digitally in some form or fashion. When was the last time any of us were able to function without our cellular device within arms reach for more than a few minutes? How many of you know how to actually use a typewriter? Or when was the last time you took notes in an actual notebook with a pen that had actual ink in it? Car mechanics now have to be able to debug an engine instead of just changing a spark plug. Our toasters are communicating with our refrigerators and our Food Processors and Alexa is listening and recording everything we say in our “Smart Houses.” Your TikTok account is owned and being viewed by the Chinese government. Facebook, SnapChat, Instagram, and Google are using tracking software to watch your browsing history to pinpoint advertising to your pages. Political parties are paying top dollar for influencers to hawk their agendas in an effort to gain your vote. And that is just the tip of the iceberg.
Governments are using the Internet for more nefarious means. Fred Kaplan gives us a glimpse into that world, but we can bet it is much worse than is being reported. Summarize the topic of Cybercrime and Cyber Warfare and answer the questions: Where does it all end? Does it have an ending at all? Is there hope, or are we heading towards a global digital dystopia? Is this where warfare is headed in the future?
