You are to write an essay of 750 words (not including title and reference pages) in which you analyze and synthesize psychological concepts apply them to your speculations concerning your career and your future life. In the essay, you will need to clearly identify your career and why you have chosen it and then explain how what you have learned in psychology will enhance your career and life.

The essay will require you to use your critical thinking skills and your writing ability to address a question of primary importance: How will you use psychology in your career and in your life?

In order to be able to successfully answer this question, you must be able to analyze and synthesize psychological concepts and be able to apply them to your speculations concerning your career and your future life.
Your paper will make use of two sources:
The first source is your textbook itself. You will select FOUR PSYCHOLOGY concepts/topics from at least two different chapters to focus on in your paper.
The second source is any source of your choosing.

In discussing information from your text, you must reference the appropriate chapters, identify and define each relevant concept, and explain why the psychological concepts you focus on are or will be relevant to your career and your future life. You will be expected to use specific examples of how the concepts will be relevant to your career. Merely saying a concept is important is not sufficient. You must be specific about how it will benefit you in your career.

For your second source you will be discussing the source and the implication of its findings for your career in some detail, not merely mentioning it in passing.

Your paper must be done using APA formatting style which includes:
A title page with the title in the middle of the page
Page numbering in the upper right corner beginning with 1 on the title page
In-text citations in APA format (that means the citation follows either the quote or the paraphrase of the information provided)
A reference page at the end (called References) in APA format

Final Project
Please select a company(or choose your own) “Argo Aces” to research for your final project. Have some fun with this. The goal is to use this company and how you would build it to demonstrate your understanding of the concepts learned in the text and this course. The weekly assignments will help you do this. The central question, as the owner of the company you choose, how will you structure this company to provide the best working environment for your employees that produces the best outcomes for growing your business. You should use concepts directly from the text to explain your answer.
Some key questions to consider:
What is the history (or roots) of the company that contributes to work culture/environment?
What is the employee selection process like?
How will the company innovate compared to competitors to grow productivity and efficiency?
How does the company train it’s employees to reach peak output?
Why do employees enjoy working for this company?

In module 5, you watched the following video. We will use that video again for this module.
In what way did the therapist focus the session for the client, develop an outcome, and action plan. Make sure to describe in detail.
How did you see the therapist challenge the client in his reluctance to feel what he was reluctant to feel? Make sure to describe in detail.
Please respond to Alicia:
Dr. Johnson worked to assist the couple with building a foundation for positive change. She identified and got to the root of the couple’s concerns while promoting achievement of the couple’s goals. She used her counseling knowledge and skills to provide helpful services to enhance promotion of a successful treatment progress. She used a client centered/focused structured approach to help the couple overcome the barriers they are facing. Scott’s anger and temper concern his wife, Leslie. Scott, in turn, feels like she views him negatively. Dr. Johnson asks questions to help Scott feel more comfortable and open with his feelings, showing other emotions besides the anger he is portraying. Instead of just focusing on the couple, she focuses on both Scott and Leslie independently, gaining a better insight into their thoughts and backgrounds. Dr. Johnson does a lot of positive reassurance with Scott, ensuring him it is okay to have feelings and to be vulnerable. “Emotional processing—the working through of emotions and the ability to examine feelings and body states—has been found to be fundamental in effective experiential counseling and therapy.” (Ivey, pg. 164) Scott was initially reluctant about changing his anger because he didn’t know how to deal with his emotions in a healthier manner. Dr. Johnson explains how the anger affects Leslie and their relationship and focuses on the positive way he was talking calmly and openly with her. She encourages the couple to not only speak to her during the session but to speak to one another, which seemed to be very helpful.
Please respond to Taylor:
Susan introduced herself in a very professional and caring manner and I think that is important to note because I truly believe that bringing this attitude to the table right off the bat played a huge role in how successful the session was for Scott and Leslie. She focused the session by starting up a little bit with Scott and Leslie’s marital history and going over what brought them in to that session. After she talks about that with them, she verifies that she has the correct information. From there, she begins asking more in depth and open ended questions to both Scott and Leslie and the open ended questions definitely paid off because they both go into more detail about what they’re feeling and dealing with on their individual levels of the mutual problem. Susan took a very client focused approach (Ivey, Ivey, Zalaquett 221).
For me, personally, I didn’t see her trying to “challenge” either of these two to feel what they needed to feel. I don’t think she was trying to make them “feel” anything at all, I thought she just wanted them to hear the other. The one spot I can think of that I saw this was when she was asking Scott some questions as he was talking about his anger and he changed from an “I’m just angry” mentality to truly understanding what the underlying anger is and how embarrassed he actually feels when Leslie does certain things or acts a certain way towards him. She definitely helped him find his triggers!

Topic – Effectiveness of Physical Exercises in Reducing Depression
Attachments is something I have been working with throughout the semester.
Imagine that you have the freedom to conduct any type of research study in the field of psychology. Develop a research proposal in which you describe your study and identify how it might be carried out. The research study can be correlational, survey-based, quasi-experimental, or experimental in nature.
The Research Proposal should be between 1,750 to 2,000 words). Include 8-10 scholarly, peer-reviewed sources within the last 5 years.
A. Title Page, Abstract page, and References page in APA format: Please refer to the APA style guide regarding the difference between an abstract and an introduction.
B. Introduction and Literature Review: The introduction and literature review is the longest section of the paper, as it provides the necessary background for the proposed study. It should begin with a broad overview of the research topic and gradually narrow into the specific variables of interest related to the topic. Tell the story of what researchers have already learned about the topic of interest and set the stage for your unique study. After reading the literature review, the reader should have a solid understanding of the background of your topic and how your study fits into the larger field. The final paragraph of the literature review should include your research questions and hypothesis (or hypotheses). This section should include AT LEAST 8-10 peer-reviewed, scholarly sources.
C. Method section: This part has four sections (each of which is a subheading):
1. Design- Briefly explain the design of the experiment and why that is the best design for your study (e.g., correlational non-experimental design, between-subjects, within-subjects, or mixed experimental design). Identify the variables of interest (for experimental studies, identify independent variables and dependent variables).
2. Participants- Identify how many participants should be involved in the study. Describe the inclusion and exclusion criteria. How will they be recruited (e.g., convenience sample, random sampling, etc.)?
3. Apparatus/ Materials/ Instruments- What materials or instruments will be used in the experiment? What items will you need to run your study (tests, gadgets, paper/ pencils, etc.)? Clearly state if any tests/surveys/instruments are self-created or used in a previous study. If using established instruments, be sure to cite properly and include a copy in the Appendix.
4. Procedure- Provide a clear description of all procedures to be followed in the study. This should be a step-by-step explanation of what will occur in the study.
a. For example, will there be groups? Will there be manipulation to control variables? Provide the steps of the study in chronological order for the reader. Write in the conditional tense since the study will not be carried out.
D. Results: Do not create fake results! Write a brief paragraph in which you identify the most appropriate statistical calculation for your study design. Explain why this statistic is appropriate and what it indicates. For example, if you are designing a correlational study, you might write “The most appropriate statistic for this type of correlational design is Pearson’s r. This calculation will demonstrate three things: if there is a relationship between the two variables, the magnitude of that relationship, and the strength of that relationship.” Identify the appropriate alpha level/confidence interval.
E. Discussion: Include at least four paragraphs:
1. Describe what it would mean if significant results were obtained. Then describe what it would mean to obtain nonsignificant results.
2. Discuss how the study will follow APA ethical guidelines by explaining the use of an informed consent form, debriefing statement (if applicable), and obtaining IRB permission.
3. Discuss any limitations in the study (e.g., possible confounding, lack of random assignment or random sampling, etc.).
4. Conclude with a discussion of future studies that could arise from the present study.
F. References: Include at least 8-10 scholarly, peer-reviewed sources published within the last 5 years.
G. Appendices: Include two figures OR two tables OR a table and a figure. A table consists of columns and rows of numbers or text, and a figure is anything else (chart, map, graph, etc.). For example, set up a table describing the ideal participant demographic breakdown; include example questions from a self-made survey; include the entire survey/instrument if using an established tool; include a copy of the informed consent form; include the debriefing statement (if applicable). If unsure, contact your instructor for confirmation of appendices.

Critical Analysis Paper:
Kail & Cavanaugh (2019) present four styles of parenting that differ in their dimensions of warmth and control (p. 229). Read carefully through Chapter 7 before completing this assignment in order to learn more about the research surrounding parenting, particularly focusing on the research surrounding these four styles.
Effective parenting and discipline are popular topics for discussion in the Christian community. This has spurred questions about the interpretation of scripture when it comes to parenting, one example being the proper way to discipline children in light of psychological research on this topic. Some advocate strongly for corporal punishment, while others recommend a more reinforcement-based approach. This topic, among other topics in the parenting discussion, will be the subject of this assignment.
Write a critique of the four parenting styles and their differing approaches to the factors described by Kail & Cavanaugh (2019) on page 229 (listed previously). Address the following in your paper:
Citing Kail & Cavanaugh (2019) and including relevant scripture, critique the four parenting styles and their differing approaches to factors described by Kail & Cavanaugh (2019)on p. 229.
Although you should analyze all aspects of parenting in your paper, be sure to particularly spend time analyzing the disciplining of a child from all four parenting style perspectives.
Ensure that your analysis of the parenting styles is supported and informed by Scripture.
Conclude your paper with your interpretation of a biblical understanding of how to raise children.
Your critique should be three pages long (in addition to cover and reference pages), should be written in APA format, and should meet the expectations outlined in the grading rubric.
In addition to your text, use a minimum of (2) two scholarly sources (please use the CCU library website or a similar resource to find these), and at least two passages from the Bible to write your paper.
Click on the Session 3 Critical Analysis Paper link to submit your assignment by the posted due date. Review the rubric available in Due Dates and Grades for specific grading criteria.

For this discussion, please watch the following video by Susan Johnson. This is the same video utilized in Module 5 and 6. Please answer the following questions – make sure to describe in detail and refer to your readings:
How did the therapist elicit the meaning of the problem for the client?
How did the therapist reflect back on what the problem means to the client?
How did the therapist reframe or provide a new interpretation of the problem for the client?
Do you agree or not agree with the therapist’s interpretation of the client’s problem? Identify an alternative interpretation that could apply to this client’s experience.
Overall, what are your thoughts and impressions of the process that you saw in the video.
please respond to Elijah:
How Dr. Johnson elicited the meaning of the problem by asking useful questions that allowed the clients to expand further on their feelings and the problems they are facing. This essentially helped Scott in particular because Scott was able to reveal his trauma as a child that still prevented him from expressing his emotions. Dr. Johnson’s having a better understanding of Scott’s behavior, thoughts, and feelings towards not being vulnerable enough to express his emotions allowed Dr. Johnson to dig deeper to resolve what was the matter. From Dr. Johnson’s reflecting on the entire problem and seeing where the couple is struggling from emotionally, it will help Dr. Johnson become clearer on what she will need to ask to help the couple become more open and expand on their feelings. How the therapist provided a new interpretation for the clients was by listening to the clients’ story and connecting the dots, making the couple look at their issue from a new useful perspective. The therapist emphasized to the man the fact that his wife was sitting there feeling alone and frustrated because she actually wanted to be with him, and it was just the anger that got in the way. Scott then began realizing what needed to change and why expressing his softer side was essential to his wife because that’s all he had. My overall thought about the process was that it was very interesting, because it made me realize that with age comes understanding more of yourself, deeper than what you expected, because early trauma still follows. It’s a process that made me believe that the more understanding you become of a client, the more information that will be provided.
Please respond to Mereisha:
Using focused techniques to concentrate on the meaning, eliciting means listening to and extracting client stories (Ivey et al. 2018). The therapist helps the client to investigate the significance of their difficulties throughout the course of the session by asking and making a range of suggestions. The therapist begins to realize that Scott’s violent outburst has a deeper significance after probing beneath the surface of his rage. The therapist might have a deeper understanding of the issues by paying close attention while listening to the patient. Asking about the client’s experiences in particular circumstances is a frequent method the therapist employs to generate meaning. This appears to frequently result in the client investigating the effects and significance of these experiences in their lives. Eliciting and reflecting are two effective approaches that aid in creating a clear counseling relationship that makes clients feel more at ease and to participate wholeheartedly. The client can come up with a better strategy to get over these challenges and move closer to their treatment objectives by having a deeper knowledge of the meaning and source of their issues. In order for the couple to reflect on specific events and feelings they have had with one another, Dr. Johnson often poses questions that have the couple think and express freely while they respond. The couple can develop and gain insight from the challenging experiences they have had if they consider the full issue rather than just specific aspects of it. I concur with the therapist’s analysis of the client’s issue. She was successful in getting the husband to express his actual feelings and anxieties. She was able to reveal one layer of the issue in the first session, but I think he is still hesitant and will need further treatment to be able to uphold being able to express his true feelings. When analyzing the video from the beginning to end the therapist was also able to give the clients the correct terms regarding their unspoken feelings. The therapist did an exceptional job of getting to the bottom of the couple’s situation and connecting crucial details to convey the complete and overall problem. She effectively helped her clients recognize that their marriage was worth saving by utilizing all of her skills.
